Graduate College Photos

I live in a castle.

It has a tower with a carillon. Someone was playing it this afternoon.

(This is not the direction I would normally approach it from, but this is where the light was nice this afternoon.)

The main entrance to the Old Graduate College goes through a large arch, right next to the tower in the first photo. Every time I see it it makes me want to do some storming.

The arch leads into Main Court. From there a smaller arch leads to North Court, where my room is.

Yesterday afternoon a couple was having wedding photos taken against the tree that is just to the left of this photo.

I have not fully explored the interior yet. There are lounge and study areas with fireplaces, this rather inexplicable room with gothic detailing outside of the dining hall (which, unfortunately, was closed, but I could peek through the inch-long keyhole at it), and an extensive network of scary basement areas where one may find computer rooms, kitchens, strange boiler rooms, locked doors, workout rooms, the D-Bar, and I'm sure plenty of ghosts.

Roxanne, the cat who made herself at home in my bed my first night here, was lounging on the steps.

(It's worth mentioning that there is also the New Graduate College, which is visible out of my other window. Imagine, if you will, combining 60s architecture with the stone thing that the old buildings have going on.)

Awwwwwwww. She's so cute!

Roxanne matches the castle quite well.

I'm jealous of the ornate digs. :~)

Also, what's D-Bar? Is it this?

It is indeed!
