The end of finals, graduations, and what has been described as a "grueling party schedule" of six parties in four days (my count). Oh, and fire.
Engineering commencement, Saturday morning. They graduate the entire college of engineering at once in the Greek theater, as if to send off each graduate who bothers to walk with the final message "you are not special". It went off pretty well, I thought, for a ceremony that consisted mostly of the reading of hundreds upon hundreds of names.

Then a suburban graduation party wherein I played the role of "representative college friend". I ate watermelon, scared small children, argued about the Monty Hall problem, swang on a swing, and took meta-graduation photos.

Later was Josh's party, which degenerated after a bit into "how many geeky hobbies do you have?". It was fabulous. There was ballroom dancing. There was a freaky variant of speed chess wherein players pass pieces they've captured to a parallel game and are allowed to play any new pieces they acquire wherever they want.

And there was fire juggling.

And a lot of dropping.

Late at night, there was a game of telephone pictionary, in which each person writes a phrase on a piece of paper, the next tries to draw the words, the next tries to translate the drawing into words, and so on. The evening's favorite seemed to be "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" which morphed through some odd programming metaphors to "oral sex is safer than intercourse". And the eternal wisdom of "early bird, late blob. late blob, early bird".
Future plans: camping this week somewhere to the north (contingent upon finding transportation), come back in time for more parties, and then go to the east coast June 3-8, returning just in time for summer school. Phew.

I took 1 st loan when I was 32 and it supported me a lot. Nevertheless, I need the commercial loan once more time.
