Kevin Freeman

There were flowers, today, on the sidewalk on Euclid below Nefeli cafe where the homeless guy with long hair and beard and no socks usually sat. And part of a newspaper article taped to the wall above, saying that he had been killed in prison.

My family and I are deeply touched by the expressions of caring that the Berkely community has shown towards by brother Kevin. Thank you.

I'm sorry about your loss.

The memorial on the sidewalk has been changing constantly during the past few weeks.

My brother Brian and I will be in Berkeley on for a few days, the 19th, 20th and 21st of this month. We hope to meet and thank in person, those who remembered our brother Kevin.

I feel for your loss. I will always remember Kevin and his red shoes.
