Golf 9 trous

Today I saw people actually playing golf in the golf course across the street. Whoa.

For a little background, the course has been abandoned the entire time I've been here. Well, not abandoned, just unfinished (the sand traps were just piles of sand for months). Kinda a waste, but whatever. The sign on the front of the little welcoming shack out front has been changed from "Coreal" (the name of the group who owns all the land in the area) to "St. Phillippe Golf & Academy".

There are amusing signs all around here detailing all this stuff that's supposed to be built - the golf course, apartment buildings, office buildings, a shopping center. Some of it's there, some of it's not. The signs say "fin de travaux: 1992" at the bottom. General idea except they forgot the giant piles of dirt (where the "centre de vie" should be and around the second village d'Entreprises).

I'm told Coreal ran into financial difficulties. Maybe they decided running a golf course is more profitable.
