Marching Band Kicks Off Another Winning Season

October 14, 2006

The Mountain View High School Spartan Marching Band, 180 strong, started off their 2006 marching season by bringing home 6 trophies from the annual Cupertino Tournament of Bands in Cupertino, CA on October 14.

  • First Place, Parade Drum Major, Open, for Jeff Chiang
  • Second Place, Parade Auxiliary, Class A & B
  • Second Place, Field Show, Class 1
  • Third Place, Parade, Class A
  • Third Place, Field Show Woodwinds, Class 1
  • Third Place, Field Show Drum Major, for Isaac Giron

The win at Cupertino bodes well for a strong competition season for the group, because this was their first show of the season. "The competition is always tough at TOB," says Band Director Robin Kramer, "so to do this well this early in this season really sets the bar high for us."
